HR and Talent Coordinator

What You'll Do

As an HR and Talent Coordinator at Veritas Prep Charter School you'll support recruitment, selection, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and other talent and human resources systems and processes. You'll collaborate with the Director of Talent, Director of Business Management, and the Business Manager to ensure both prospective and current employees feel supported and have a positive experience with the HR and Talent team and the organization.

You'll also:

• Assist the Director of Talent in developing a comprehensive plan to recruit, engage, and retain a high-quality, diverse group of teachers and staff
• Prepare for and attend recruitment events, including career fairs, networking events, community-based gatherings, school tours, etc.
• Assist with development of job descriptions and postings at the direction of the Director of Talent
• Utilize Workable to post jobs, review applications, and communicate with applicants
• Assist with applicant screening and selection, including scheduling interviews with hiring managers and preparing candidates for the interview process
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases and all HR systems related to employee hiring, retention, certification, licensure and other aspects of the employment process
• Assist employees regarding certification and MTELs
• Enter, manage, and update employee data in ADP
• Collaborate with HRKnowledge to support employees around benefits, leaves, etc.
• Respond to questions about job postings and benefits
• Be the first line of communication for employees who have questions about HR policies and practices or have workplace concerns
• Draft communications as necessary
• Manage and run semi-monthly payroll
• Engage in learning about racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources/Talent
• Solid knowledge of a variety of HR and recruitment practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees around policies and practices, as well as handle difficult conversations when required
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with all levels of the organization
• Proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, data entry and analysis
