Position Summary
This position has the responsibility and authority to, under limited supervision, provide technical support to Quality Engineering as required to develop new products, processes, or systems. Responsible for meeting deadlines for assigned activities. Problem solves through demonstrated knowledge of products/processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and secretarial duties for the Quality Department.
- Maintain customer files and documents including but not limited to inspection reports, travelers, FAIRs, receiving inspection records, etc.
- Manage and Maintain the Material Review Board (MRB) System, ensuring the proper assignment of Responsibilities and the continuous processing of MRB items.
- Establish and Maintain a process for Quality Review of Customer Returns for RMA (Return Material Authorization) Processing.
- Create product and process certifications (Certificate of Conformance).
- Prepare for and Manage Customer Oversight visits (i.e. Source Inspection)
- Support the Development of Quality Plans by assisting the Quality Engineers in creating bubble drawings and defining methods/techniques for assessing each feature.
- Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Create inspection record templates (forms) and train Inspectors to execute quality plans.
- Develop/improve inspection methods to improve accuracy and reduce cycle-time.
- Create electronic Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection templates.
- Perform Gage R&R studies.
- Ensure incoming materials are in compliance to required specifications.
- Manage calibration system.
Education: High School Diploma w/ more experience
Experience: 4 or more years of quality inspection and/or data analysis
Knowledge:
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Calibration Management Systems
Knowledge of all tools and equipment used to perform inspections
Skills:
Communication (written and verbal) – able to communicate effectively and efficiently to internal and external parties.
Organization – lead by example to maintain systems
Problem solving – able to assess the issue, understand impacts, and prioritize

Position involves frequent sitting at a desk using a computer for various work applications.
Ability to stand and walk occasionally.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry items (such as packages) up to 25 pounds.
Ability to squat and kneel occasionally, to climb stairs, use step stools occasionally.
Ability to reach with hands and arms occasionally to remove materials from shelves.
Ability to finger, grasp and feel objects (such as files and mail items) occasionally.
Fine hand manipulation of light-moderate strength is required for computer work.
Requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) for computer work.
Must be able to speak/hear to fulfill verbal communications and respond to ringing telephones.
When approved, must be able to work extended hours per the demands of the business.
