Bring your e-Discovery Project Coordinator (or Project Management) and Relativity subject matter expertise to support the FDA’s eDiscovery team and systems. Note: this position can be remote during pandemic. We follow all agency guidelines on COVID.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can interface between the FDA Program Management, Case Management, and Operations teams to provide expert guidance on use of Relativity workflows to maximize efficiency and accuracy of processes, ensure standards are established and applied consistently, track and ensure satisfactory response to issues involving the use of Relativity, and develop and provide training for legal teams and for internal staff.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provide expert guidance on use of Relativity workflows to maximize efficiency and accuracy of processes:
Provide guidance to allow the FDA eDiscovery team and their internal customers to make best use of Relativity.
Provide consulting services to program management regarding best practices for the use of legal technology, in particular Relativity.
Support the execution of reviews in Relativity by forging collaborative partnerships with diverse teams of project managers and legal professionals to meet critical deadlines.
Advise legal teams on Relativity processes to perform document reviews in the most efficient, timely, and cost effective manner.
Provide regular reports and metrics as to the status of each phase of the project.
Ensure standards are established and applied consistently:
Develop of best practice models: oversee and monitor team best practices, develop and promote standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, templates, etc.
Ensure standard procedures for electronic discovery projects are consistently applied across the life of the case.
Ensure accuracy of data loading, manipulation, and conversion by developing, documenting and implementing a system of quality checks.
Perform Quality Control of processed data in Relativity Review platform.
Track and ensure satisfactory response to issues involving the use of Relativity:
Act as a liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team, eDiscovery program management, and case management team to ensure proper communication between the parties.
Identify and understand problems or issues through analysis of multiple data sources to draw effective conclusions and choose the most effective course of action considering the broad business impacts.
In consultation with program management, propose solutions including corrective actions, update standards as needed, and ensure client satisfaction with results.
Identify and track detailed information related to issues, including problem description, root cause(s), actions needed and responsible parties, estimated date of completion, and confirmation of satisfactory resolution.
Develop and provide training for legal teams and for internal staff
Develop training documentation and deliverables, such as formal training materials,” how-to” guides, and reusable communications templates.
Train legal teams on eDiscovery processes and on the use of Relativity according to established FDA eDiscovery practices.
Assist users (attorneys, paralegals, project managers, etc.) in the support of instance of Relativity.
Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Legal/Technical field, JD strongly preferred.
U. S. Citizenship required
5+ years’ experience as an eDiscovery Project Manager/Coordinator using Relativity along with related eDiscovery applications such as Nuix and EnCase.
Relativity Certification or equivalent demonstrated Relativity experience
Hands-on experience with Relativity Processing (ingesting data, resolving exceptions, creating indexes, etc.) is strongly preferred.
Experience creating Productions from Relativity (creating load files (OPT/LFP), text files, and .dat files to production specifications, producing redacted documents and associated text, etc.), is strongly desired
Experience configuring Relativity workspaces to included: creating coding fields, event handlers, batch creation and workflow design and batching, search term report (STR) creation, and complex search creation.
Requires a minimum of five years’ experience in managing delivery of litigation support services.
Minimum of three years’ experience in the development and implementation of processes for litigation matters, or comparable experience.
Strong working knowledge of the EDRM lifecycle as managed at FDA
Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with business users, managers and non-technical staff.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to train others in using Relativity for efficiency, accuracy and best fit to FDA processes.
Experience with preparing presentations, reports, tables, graphs, and observations for presentation to technical and non-technical audience.
Demonstrated ability to write well and adapt information into required formats for documents. (required)
Experience working in a consulting environment (desired)
Experience with Federal contracting processes (desired)
Experience with managing multiple priorities and tight timelines.
Extensive PC skills including Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Teams.
Flexibility to work overtime, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours.
