The Opportunity:

Veev is looking for a Director of Logistics and Transportation to join our family. In this role, the Director of Logistics and Transportation will be responsible for managing inventory throughout multiple warehouse locations and additionally,  the transportation of material to manufacturing + construction sites.  In addition, the Director of Logistics and Transportation will establish processes to load and transport volumetric deliveries ensuring employee safety, scale organization to meet future business needs as a company, and develop a plan for Every Part (PFEP). Lastly, the Director of Logistics and Transportation will develop purchasing plans that deliver the best cost and service solution for every part. 

In this Role, You Will:

  • Ensure safe and on time transportation for commercial construction materials, including packaging and loading (+unloading and rigging)

  • Develop Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with internal customers, manage and meet SLA requirements to ensure on time delivery to internal customers

  • Implement outbound shipping process to manage costs

  • Conduct/lead business process analysis to understand the needs of the transportation organization and translate those needs into clear specifications

  •  Maintain safe work environment

  •  Develop warehouse layout and internal material supply to POU using Lean manufacturing concept principles

  • Monitor and control material handling specifications, flow, methodologies & systems to support Production according to business systems requirement and to avoid obstruction to the parts supply flow

  • Implement and manage KPI’s for both inventory management and transportation requirements

  • Implement cycle counting process to drive inventory integrity

  • Ensure fleet compliance to DOT 

Requirements, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics related functions (warehouse management, transportation); at least 5 years in people leadership positions

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field

  • Extensive knowledge of logistics operations management including procurement, operations management, carrier relationship management and international trade.

  • Strong organizational skills with both strategic and tactical responsibilities.

  • Mentoring skills and the ability to accept and delegate accountability

  • LEAN experience, preferably Green Belt certification

  • Evidence of customer-focused, both internal and external, and result-oriented management style.

  • 3 years ERP transactional management

  • Strong communication skills, can communicate across various levels of the organization

  • Familiarity with Netsuite
