Location: Bethesda, Maryland we can work with you on schedules; we have hybrid and compressed schedules; ask your recruiter. 7:00 am 3:00 PM, 4- 10 hour days 3 days on site; 2 days remote.
Pay: W2 Salaried plus benefits options, PTO 15 days, Holidays 11, Sick Days 7 and 401K plan with a match and more.
Hours: 40 hours per week

DESCRIPTION FOR: Systems Administrator/Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) - TS/SCI
Vector is seeking a System Administrator who is interested in developing your skills and deepening your experience supporting the infrastructure, deployment, and maintenance of a machine translation triage application leveraging cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (Client), and Data Science (DS) capabilities?
Come support a major program advancing the state of the art in Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) supporting mission-focused big data analytics and predictive analytics. You will be delivering cutting edge machine learning capabilities to advance national security objectives, swiftly produce and analyze results, and disseminate findings with actionable intelligence insights. While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. A percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements / deliverables priorities and schedule for the week.


  • Work closely with a cross-functional agile application development team of data scientists, data engineers, software developers, system engineers, researchers, and data analysts working on the design, building, and optimization of a complex, resource demanding application.
  • Support multiple simultaneous work packages and take open-ended or high-level guidance, independently and collaboratively provide first-class infrastructure and deployment solutions.
  • Bring your mix of intellectual curiosity, quantitative acumen, and customer-focus to identify Client approaches to improve the performance of system function through system administration optimizations in partnership with a highly qualified, highly motivated team.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Develop, manage, and continually improve the backlog of work items for an Agile scrum team. Update and prioritize stories and epics via feedback from various program stakeholders ensuring the team is always working on the highest-value tasks.
  • Provide technical support, coordination, and execution of systems engineering activities such as feature/requirements analysis, design, implementation planning, integration and test, sustainment, documentation, deployment, and system assessment.
  • Support Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) program increment planning and execution through creation of work tickets in JIRA as well as program/system documentation using collaboration software (e.g., Confluence). Participate in all Agile ceremonies to include daily stand up, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Stay informed of increment and sprint progress and work with the team to identify and remove impediments and dependencies.
  • Perform backlog refinement on a regular basis. This may include decomposing features into workable stories, prioritizing or reprioritizing items in the backlog for upcoming sprints, refining acceptance criteria and complexity estimates or removing tickets that are no longer relevant.
  • Accept or reject completed work based on defined acceptance criteria to ensure delivery of high-quality software.

Preferred Qualifications:
Software development/coding experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, and React
  • Experience with database systems, search engines, model view controller (MVC); web applications.
  • Experience with using Oracle Linux and Centos operating systems.
  • Experience with big data applications.
  • Agile certification: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CPSO), SAFe Agilist or other.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous development tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent)
  • Experience with creating design packages and workflows.
  • Experience in writing technical solutions and whitepapers.
  • Familiarity with a MBSE approach and tools or experience with framework/approach like MBSE
