Varsity is seeking a highly motivated Project IT Engineer. This is an excellent fit for a dynamic individual who is a mission-driven customer-focused technology troubleshooter and implementation specialist. To be successful in this role, you should be able to understand, scope, consult and implement technology projects for our customers.

You will touch a ton of different technologies in this very dynamic role. Be prepared to learn and grow!

Requirements

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technology projects end to end for our client projects, which may include, but are not limited to: deployment and implementation of new services, software, or infrastructure, settings across user endpoints and networks
  • Be a part of the troubleshooting escalation team for tier 3 tickets
  • Implement and support the technology side of onboarding new managed services clients
  • Find opportunities for consulting work with our current customers
  • Work with a team of IT Consultants and project managers to design technology project plans and meet project goals and budgets

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT technology experience from internal to a direct customer facing role
  • Minimum of 3 years of client facing work
  • Proven track record of successful technology project implementation
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and multiple client demands while maintaining a high-quality level of customer service
  • Flexibility to meet dynamic scheduling demands

Strong leadership, strategic implementation, communication, and technology planning skills

Ability to travel between client sites and physically deploy server and network equipment. Working knowledge of basic branch office network implementation and administration concepts such as:

  • TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WAN, VPN (LAN, WAN, wireless, routing, switching, VPN)
  • AD, GPO
  • LDAP, SSO, SAML
  • Preferred but not required:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in information systems, project management or a related field
  • Prior experience as a Systems Administrator, NOC Administrator
  • MSP experience a plus
  • Certifications and/or practical work experience in:
  1. Windows Server 2008-2019 deployment and administration
  1. Virtualization technologies such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Remote Desktop backend implementation and administration
  1. Large-scale email and file migrations
  1. Office 365 administration
  1. Google Apps administration
  1. Cisco and Meraki network administration
  1. FortiGate administration and/or Fortinet NSE 1, 2, 3 and 4 certifications
  1. VMware administration/certification
  1. Mobile Device Management administration
  1. Veeam Backup and Replication administration/certification
  1. VOIP implementation and deployment
