Project Logistics & Expediting Coordinator - Capital

The Client Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Project Logistics & Expediting Coordinator position available at Wilmington, DE headquarters. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Procurement function.

SUMMARY: The Logistics & Expediting Coordinator is responsible for the planning and executing logistics & expediting related activities for domestic and international shipments for Client. This position will support Client BUCPL, CSPL and work closely with other internal stakeholders representing its various departments. The Logistics & Expediting Coordinator will perform duties related to building and scheduling Project Procurement Plan, managing 3PL, suppliers, and consignee relationships, tracking and tracing production schedules, and providing excellent customer service.

Logistics & Expediting:

Communicate and coordinate with Supply Chain Planning Group to plan inbound logistics

Dispatching carriers to align with project needs and tracking shipments

Handle a diverse portfolio of logistics & expeditor projects across multiple spend and geographical areas and work under pressure with competing priorities

Direct management of supplier deliverables in the execution of Capital Projects.

This will include Supplier drawings, Client review, Supplier Review, and Supplier production schedules.

Assure supplier performance in the successful execution of Capital Projects to meet the Client project schedule.

Evaluate purchase orders and contracts to recommend and execute the level of expediting: Desk, telephone. Shop surveillance. 3rd Party Engagement.

Reviews the general expediting requirements outlined in the Prime Contract and the Project Procurement and Materials Plan Develops a detailed Expediting Plan for the Project when required.

Escalate freight and expediting issues to ensure the continuous flow of materials from the vendor to the project site

Approve freight quotes when they fall within established limits

Provide research, price quoting, and solutions to RFP's and RFI's (Request for Price and Request for Information)

Prepare daily/monthly reports for customer and management

Communication with asset truck carriers or brokers, coordinating the pickup of loads and delivery of loads

Exercises independent judgment in determining routes to ensure efficiency and the most effective delivery routes in delivery

Use of SAP to coordinate logistics & expediting activities in support of business needs

Performs other duties as needed for the effective operation of the department

Provides prompt and accurate shipment information to inquiries. Arranges and coordinates order changes and or expediting requests promptly to achieve high customer satisfaction

Provides follow-up on expediting requests as required. Handles change orders and cancellations relating to shipping

Develops and maintains a good working relationship with both internal and external customers

Strong systems knowledge along with knowledge of Logistics & Expediting standards and methodologies

Skills in proactive problem prevention and resolution and anticipates potential problems or shortcomings in systems design or business processes

Skill in verbal and written communication to document and present complex business process, workflows, standards, roadmaps, and test plans

Requirements:

A minimum of 6 years' Project Logistics, Expediting, or Planner experience in Energy, Chemicals, Power, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical's business lines.

A minimum of 4 years' experience functioning as a Project Logistics, Expediting, or Planner with a major manufacturing, engineering, procurement and construction organization.

Demonstrable expertise managing the large equipment or heavy haul equipment, international and ocean freight.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products and advanced excel skills

Education Requirements: Four-year college degree or equivalent in experience: 2 years of work experience as described herein for each year of the education requirement, in procurement, supply chain, engineering or a related field.

Business experience:

Manufacturing, Freight forwarding or International transportation experience

Demonstrated ability and experience to engage with and influence multiple key internal clients

Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and negotiation skills

Knowledge of SAP is desired.

Working knowledge of manufacturing and shipping processes.

Strong communication skills to interact with suppliers, vendors, and internal customers

Must be organized and detail oriented

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm schedule

Must able to work remotely with little supervision

Must pass a national background check and drug screen
