Product Owner – Business Intelligence
We ar looking for a motivated and dedicated Business Intelligence Product Owner to provide data-focused subject matter expertise to help analyze the business more effectively, serve our customers better and increase revenue. This position will rely heavily on your sales / operations / brand management expertise to link data insights into actionable business insights. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing project timelines, conducting user training, and providing first-level application customer support for BI reporting and analytic needs.
This position will utilize a multitude of your skills, including:
Product Ownership - Generating requirements for advances in data consumption, data delivery, and complex analysis and facilitating change management as needed.
Project Management - Managing project scope, identifying and communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring on time delivery utilizing engineering as well as technical and business resources across the globe.
Business Analysis – Designing solutions for data-driven analysis of the Business Intelligence technology stack and performance.
This role will have direct interactions working with end users, from top-level executives to front line workers, in the emerging fields of Business Intelligence and eCommerce sales.
The right candidate will have a strong technical and analytical background, a passion for utilizing software to improve processes, and relevant experience in product and project management. A background and working knowledge of consumer goods manufacturing, operations, and/or finance and the related processes would be beneficial but is not required.

Work with Business Process Owners throughout the company to negotiate requirements and solutions that are usable across the Home Furnishings Sector
Consult with users across the company to gather requirements and solicit user feedback
Gather and document detailed business requirements & develop user stories
Work with engineering resources and project management to breakdown work and coordinate necessary resources
Support users across the organization answering questions, making recommendations and providing a transparent view of priorities and progress
Conduct user training when necessary
Work well in a team environment to manage project workload and to facilitate the delivery of projects
Work closely with internal team members as well as other technical resources to communicate requirements
Document User Acceptance criteria for the QA Team to ensure solutions meet requirements
Comply with project and coding standards and processes as determined by the management team
·3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, Business Analyst or in a similar role
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Intelligence or a related field preferred
Knowledge of database structure and best practices
Ability to formulate simple queries in Microsoft SQL or MySQL or similar database
Experience with Qlik or similar Data Visualization tool (ie, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.)
Experience guiding the creation of new data tools within a corporate environment
Experience with project management/issue tracking software – Atlassian/Jira experience a plus
Experience working in an Agile Project Management environment
Must be able to demonstrate clear accomplishments in prior roles, with a track record of tangible business results.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills; with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills – including the ability to work with novice users to design, implement, and maintain BI reports / dashboards; ability to interact at Officer level; ability to negotiate and persuade
Ability to work with employees throughout the company to quickly understand scope requirements and proposed architecture and solutions.
Ability to effectively define, estimate, and execute technical projects.
Ability to accept suggestions for improvement and willingness to stay on task until the job is done.
Innate curiosity and desire to learn and explore new emerging technologies –there will be significant opportunity to utilize and learn other applications/languages.
This position is based in our offices in the heart of downtown Asheville, NC – However, remote work will be considered with preference given to candidates who can be onsite when necessary.
