Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift

JOB LOCATION: Waterloo, WI 20 minutes east of Madison

JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of a team that is responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting production and facility equipment.

HOURS: 2nd shift / 4-day work week

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform setup and changeovers of production equipment
  • Perform emergency machine repairs as needed
  • Rebuild machinery as needed
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical problems and take corrective actions
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance
  • Complete all assigned preventative maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area
  • Follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation and food safety rules and regulations
  • Report any plant safety, food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain proactive and positive communication with your supervisor and coworkers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised within a team environment
  • Hands on experience with 3 or more of these technical skills: electrical, AC/DC motor controls, PLC troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubricating, conveyors, and packaging equipment
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
  • Ability to apply and conduct good root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques
  • Must be able to read and write English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Food processing and or industrial maintenance manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Electrical knowledge of 3 phase 208/480VAC, control circuits of 110VAC and 24DC
  • Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of welding – TIG, MIG and stick
  • Experience with cutting torch, band saw, grinder, plasma cutter
  • Experience with food safety programs is a plus (SQF. BRC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA compliance
  • Comfortable communicating and operating within a diverse workforce
  • Ability to work seasonal overtime
