Valard Construction is looking for Project Coordinator / Project EIT. The project is located in Wamsutter, Wyoming.

The Project Coordinator/Project EIT reports directly to the Project Manager (PM), and will adhere to the Valard PM Accountabilities. The purpose of this position is to assist the PM in managing costs, schedule, scope, and quality on major projects (typically $>100MM). The Project Coordinator/Project EIT understands the General Contract and will assist the PM to ensure the project team understands their components of the General Contract as well. In addition to assisting the PM, the Project Coordinator/Project EIT will also be required to provide technical assistance to the Project Engineer, Quality Manager, Construction Supervisors, and Construction Manager (CM).

Relevant Gateway-Specific Details:

  • Project: Gateway South 500kV Transmission Line Project in Rawlins, WY
  • Work Term: Seasonal work on Gateway South in the United States (approx. May - Nov, in years 2022, 2023, 2024). Option to work on Valard's Canadian project(s) during the winter season pending performance evaluation.
  • Rotation/Shift: 20-on/8-off (or similar)
  • Hours: 10-11 hours per day (every day while on shift)
  • Flights: rotation flights provided by Valard
  • Accommodations: hotel & LOA provided by Valard

Note: This position will require submitting of transcripts, passport, and other documents for review to get TN visa before hiring.


  • Coordination of staff and resources on site as guided by the construction manager
  • Fulfill both technical and administrative needs as required
  • Planning projects in order to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost, and agreed quality standards
  • Conducting cost, production, scheduling, and materials analyses as required by the PM or CM
  • Scheduling tasks, deadlines and milestones for clients, stakeholders, and resources
  • Managing the project on a day-to-day basis including preparing and forwarding project updates and reports to the PM
  • Facilitating day-to-day operational needs during PM off-shifts
  • Coordinating communication between staff and 3rd parties as required
  • Liaising between the field construction staff and design engineers
  • Interpreting drawings and other technical documentation related to the field
  • Tracking and reporting project information by communicating project data in different formats; Reports, Presentations, Visio diagrams (includes compilation and distribution of the project-wide Daily Report and Plan of the Day to the entire project)
  • Creating, maintaining & constantly looking to improve project processes
  • Interacting with clients when guided by the PM or CM
  • Creating & maintaining data systems for inventory
  • Supporting scheduling, accounting, cost & document control, procurement, project filing & communication with all parties
  • Interfacing with project construction management teams to establish workflow
  • Sound knowledge of project documents including schedule, drawings, and specifications
  • Creating procedures and reporting for the management on site
  • Producing monthly reports and provide backup documents for invoicing to clients
  • Maintaining the integrity of the data in reports to support other departments
  • Overseeing the entire Supply Chain Management process including: Vendor Prequalification, Vendor management, Negotiating, Preparing RFQ's, Recommend the procurement of project materials and equipment, Transportation and logistics, Expediting, Bid evaluation and Reporting
  • Addressing unforeseen circumstances with Construction and Project Managers
  • Managing materials and supplies
  • Performing other duties as assigned to ensure the efficiency of the project

1. Employee Relations

  • Ensure that all employee information is kept confidential and secured
  • Self-starter and the ability to work both in a team environment and/or independently
  • Collect and provide all the necessary documents and information for site management

2. Project Work
  • Work on project site on rotation (20 days on/8 days off or other similar)

  • Post-Secondary Degree (Engineering Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working towards a professional designation (PEng, PMP, SCMP)
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning employee and project information
  • An asset if understands P6 and Critical Path Scheduling
