Production Project Scheduler/Planner

Dynavac is in search of a senior level Production Project Scheduler/Planner. We build custom high vacuum process capital equipment for satellite testing and thin film coatings. The successful candidate will have the skills and initiative to successfully be the primary interface between Project Management and the Operations Team, managing the efficient flow of material through the factory.
Dynavac, located in Hingham MA (south of Boston), is a growing custom engineering and manufacturing company. Work orders are project based, typically unique, and range in size and scope from < $50K to $5MM +. Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines including:
- Design and fabrication of medium to large scale pressure vacuum vessels
- Design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems
- Field integration of shop-built components
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Responsible for continuous improved development, implementation and maintenance of an effective planning, scheduling management system. Coordination of and controlling product flow through the factory based on material availability, production capacity and customer promise date
- Proactively identify project schedule constraints and potential delays. Seek expedites and escalation path prior to project timeline/schedule impact.
- Drive job set-up methodology / planning work structure to better leverage Epicor functionality
- Establish Planning BOMs / forecast repetitive parts bought to stock for standard product lines
- Establish and monitor schedule need dates for all manufacturing (make jobs) to establish overall production needs for all projects.
- Accommodate and communicate updates and changes to project schedules
- Input and monitor labor standards / Develop Labor Capacity Model based on top level assemblies to identify bottlenecks and more effectively plan around capacity constraints
- Operations Representative providing key input to finance, sales, estimating, project and program management on production schedules, costs, capacity and lead times.
- Report on project material and factory performance and implement tactics to balance delivery performance and inventory carrying costs.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure timely/accurate Bill of Material, management to align with Engineering change Orders, and new product introduction.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead production meetings within Supply Chain and Manufacturing as required.
- Manage ERP and serve as the subject matter expert for Supply Chain and Operations team.
- Establish and maintain min / max replenishment and safety stock levels to trigger buy or make-to-stock material.
- Administer annual physical inventory and weekly cycle count program
- Develop custom reports as required

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS
- Associate's degree in business
- 5 years’ planning / scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Epicor a plus
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
- APICS Certification a plus
- Experience in a project-based schedule planning and management in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office/Project.
- Advanced ability to evaluate project progress and facilitate interventions

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ordinary requirements found in an office work environment with frequent visits to the manufacturing shop floor with inherent manufacturing hazards.
