VTG is seeking a Senior Software Developer and DevOps Engineer located in College Park, Maryland capable of flexibly filling multiple roles with a fast-paced team. Software factory approach using agile methodologies, scrum techniques, test driven development to deliver capability to the US Navy. Candidate will be supporting the Navy with a new prototype that will try to rapidly update Aegis combat system software throughout the fleet. Onsite 1-2 days/wk.
Responsibilities
- Software development in a software factory setting
- Mentoring software developers
- Lead teams in a software factory to deliver software capability to the fleet in a continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline. This includes use of
- Configuration control
- Testing
- Security
- Automation
- Containerization
- Orchestration
- Cloud services
Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- Senior Software Developer (with >4 years of software development experience and >1 year of experience mentoring junior software developers)
- US Citizen with active SECRET clearance and ability to maintain SECRET clearance
- Successful completion of background check
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- DevOps Engineer (with >2 years of experience in configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, and cloud services open-source technologies)
Travel Requirements: Domestic <10%.
