Job Description


  • Works with Media Director in the development and implementation of media campaigns including most or all of the following: Spot TV, Local Cable, National TV/Cable, Radio, Outdoor, Print and Digital tactics
  • As directed and overseen by the Media Director, develop and present recommendations, evaluations, competitive reports, integrated media campaign delivery reports, POVs and media analyses to Account Service and ultimately client
  • Develop RFP’s, issuance to media partners and the evaluation of proposals for client consideration
  • Create and maintain media buy summaries and client budget stewardship in conjunction with Media Director
  • Organize, implement and control the day-to-day media planning development process including coordination with assistant and buyer
  • Monitor media campaigns with Media Director and when needed, have campaign performance meetings internally and/or with client; track and manage campaign delivery
  • Manages internal approval of media buys and campaigns, leads the implementation of campaign assets and manages timelines / key client deliverables
  • Maintains and archives media plans, client briefs, insertion orders and measurement plans / reporting
  • Uses media research tools to inform campaign development and support tactical recommendations
  • Work with the buyer, providing buying specifications, monitor development and review media buys and post-buy analyses
  • Work with the buyer to put packages together and manage evaluation process, ensuring that the package is efficient before client presentation
  • Coordinate with the Buying and Account Service teams on understanding of current marketplace conditions, competitive spending or potential media opportunities
  • Identify media programs and services to meet client objectives and goals
  • Attend Client and internal meetings as necessary
  • Promote positive working relationships within the department, the company and the vendor community
  • Train assistant level employees


  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or Business preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in planning or buying
  • Demonstrated presentation and writing skills
  • Experience directly managing staff of one or more is desirable
  • Understanding of Digital Advertising preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Skilled in prioritizing and adapting to new projects throughout the day with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in an environment of fast-paced change while maintaining focus
  • Solid organization, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience of familiarity using industry media planning tools: Nielsen, Arbitron, Simmons, Media Tools, MRI Research, Kantar Media, Strata/MediaOcean/Prisma, SQUAD, comScore, eMarketer, Double-Click/FlashTalking/Sizmek, etc.
