About the Mission You Will Join: 
In this program you will conduct mission analysis on the organization and alignment for cyber, communications, and information technology related activities across the Secretariat and Service Staffs.    

Your Impact to the Mission: 
VMD is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Conducting analytic assessment of the current cyber and IT related activities across the Secretariat and Service Staff, including identifying pain points, filling policy gaps, correcting broken processes 
  • Collaborating with government staff to accomplish a DAF Cyber Mission Analysis Sprint 
  • Leveraging a project work plan with accompanying dates, goals, and milestones readily available across the enterprise on SharePoint 
  • Draft a shared vision and strategy for Cyber, Communications, and IT priorities 
  • Independently engage and interact with appropriate stakeholders to build business case analysis 
  • Support how the DAF will clarify roles, responsibilities, and functions, while increasing visibility and collaboration between staff elements and organizations across the operational Air Force and Space Force 
  • Independently analyze a broad range of programs and disparate data sources to identify and recommend meaningful financial metrics 
  • Support and assist with the creation of update briefs for Senior Leaders 
  • Independently analyze and identify dependencies across programs and document such dependencies then communicate findings to stakeholders and senior leaders 
  • Independently analyze new and existing technologies for relevance at the policy and strategy level and make recommendations accordingly 
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders across the Air Force and Interagency speak as necessary for the client and report resulting updates and action items 
  • Attend and organize meetings as necessary with stakeholders across the Air Force and Interagency and analyze and communicate to AF stakeholders and Sr. Leaders the operational impact of updates and action items  

Experience Needed to Be Successful: 

  • Familiarity and knowledge of requirements gathering best practices and experience with Requirements Analysis at the enterprise level 
  • Experience with risk identification, analysis, and management 
  • Experience analyzing and documenting business systems and workflows 
  • Have the ability to fully collaborate with various leads for SECAF Management Initiatives, Operational Imperatives, and Task Force Sentinel Stand to identify cross cutting activities and share information across complementary efforts. 
  • Conduct a holistic and collaborative effort to address root cause issues and provide SECAF with options to resolve challenges across roles and responsibilities, talent management, and funding plan development and delivery for these critical capabilities.  
  • Extremely professional demeanor, able to work independently and on a team. Knows how to leverage relationships and respect to accomplish the task at hand.     

Desired Experience and Skills: 

  • Worked as a previous Air Force Action Officer at HQ Air Force Pentagon    

Basic Qualifiers: 

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree  
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? Yes 
  • Required Certification(s): None 
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 7 
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 7 
  • Minimum Clearance to Start: Active Secret, with the ability to increase to a Top Secret   
  • Work Status Allowable: US Citizen
