Job Description
Vets for Vets Home Healthcare is looking for an experienced and compassionate Certified Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide to provide essential care and support to veterans in need of in-home supportive care services. We are looking to fill both full-time, part-time, and per-diem day and night shift positions. Our most qualified candidate will be someone with a strong passion for serving our nation's heroes and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care.

Vets for Vets Home Healthcare is looking for an experienced and compassionate Certified Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide to provide essential care and support to veterans in need of in-home supportive care services. We are looking to fill both full-time, part-time, and per-diem day and night shift positions. Our most qualified candidate will be someone with a strong passion for serving our nation's heroes and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- Active state-approved certification as a Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with seniors, disabled or veteran populations is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Current CPR certification (required)
Training Requirements:
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant or home health aide training program.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements as mandated by state regulations.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to North Wales, PA for this job (Deal breaker)
- Must posses a valid PA state Drivers License
Competency Requirements:
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to provide personal care and support services as directed by a licensed nurse.
- Ability to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for veterans.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and compassion in caring for veterans.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Assist patients with daily mobility and transfer activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care as necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor and other members of the healthcare team
- Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Engage patients in exercises or other activities
- Provide personal care and hygiene support, including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the Clinical Manager.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with self-administered medications, as directed.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Provide companionship and support to veterans and their families.
Work Elements:
- Physical Demands: This job may require prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive motions. Physical abilities required include fine motor skills, reaching, pushing and pulling at least 50 pounds.
- Environmental Conditions: The job may require working indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and dangerous equipment.

- This job may require working in a home environment with a variety of animals and possible exposure to second-hand smoke.
