Forklift Operator

VEKA is a member of the modern, family owned global VEKA group, the world's largest extruder of vinyl lineals for the window and door industry.

JOB SUMMARY: To properly band and seal racks of finished goods inventory and deliver them to the bar-coding area.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Starting salary $18.50 an hour.
2. Safely operate fork truck and hold valid Veka fork truck license
3. Properly band and seal full racks of material.
4. Transfer all racks (including those with bundles) to the Barcode area.
5. Set up empty racks on rack dollies.
6. Sets up scrap Gaylord boxes and replace those that are full.
7. Assist and coordinate activities with other Material Handlers
8. Remove and replace on-line scrap racks, and transfer those racks to the Scrap area in the Warehouse.
9. Set up and maintain material bins on the mezzanine (front building handler only).
10. Perform daily safety and mechanical inspection of the fork truck.
11. Maintain proper housekeeping of assigned work area.
12. Able to work 12 hr rotating shift.

Secondary Duties:

1. Assist in the Quick Change process.
2. All other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GED, High School Education, or Previous Work Experience
