Site Reliability Engineer - Remote

The Site Reliability Engineers at Vecima are part of the Platform Engineering team and provide advanced support for solution deployments in production customer environments. The Platform Engineering team deals with complex infrastructure to improve performance, visibility, availability, and reliability with a focus on using codified, scripted, or automated solutions.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Evaluate and install hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications.
• Monitor the performance of systems and networks.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade server hardware and software.
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance.
• Perform routine network troubleshooting and maintain documentation records.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Conduct tests and perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks perform security and quality controls.
• Operate, maintain a hardware, software and related server equipment.
• Maintain server hardware and software and monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance.

Position requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• System administration and configuration experience in LINUX
• Solid understanding of network and web technologies e.g. TCP, HTTP, REST.
• Deep understanding of Redhat in a production environment.
• 3+ years of Agile methods and processes experience
• Working knowledge of scripting and programming languages including but not limited to Bash, and Python.
• Ability to triage complex customer issues in an expedient and professional manner.
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• working with customers/support type entities
