VCU HealthSystem's Trauma/Medical Emergency isseeking an
hourly?TraumaTech. Under the supervision of a licensed independent
practitioner, managerand/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the
Commonwealth of Virginia Boardof nursing delegation and supervision
guidelines, they will perform a variety ofdirect and indirect patient
care activities. These include assistance withactivities of daily
living, comfort care and nutritional support, andperformance of selected
diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures asdirected. Indirect
patient care activities include maintaining a clean safeenvironment,
ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and
datacollection as pertinent to the patient population.
May functionindependently under protocols approved by VCUHS Medical
Director and hospitaland departmental policy/procedure.
Functionsunder direction of a licensed independent practitioner, MD,
and/or RN inproviding patient care, emotional support, and problem
solving; all inaccordance with hospital, nursing and unit
Functionsunder departmental Standards of Practice (SOP) in the
communications room andin the role of patient transport in collaboration
with RN and Physiciancolleagues.
CurrentEMT-P certification in Virginia
Current AHAACLS Certification
AHA BLS HCPCertification or equivalent
1 year ofactive pre-hospital service
Previoushazardous materials experience
