Responsibilities:

  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
  • Assume administrative, contractual, technical, and financial control of the project, especially in Material Handling
  • Manage conflict, establish priorities, coordinate concurrent activities, and provide the project team with leadership
  • Travel, as required, to perform the tasks as described for this position. Extended travel periods may be required during the commissioning and acceptance phase of each project
  • Preserve the integrated system design to meet the system performance and technical specification requirements
  • Manage the project master schedule to achieve timely completion of the contract
  • Report weekly/monthly project status  
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a track record of working effectively in a team environment that incorporates engineering and project management
  • Strong team-oriented mentality and acceptance of responsibility for project completion
  • Self-motivated with proven ability in problem solving, especially in intense situations
  • The ability to think creatively and stay current with industry trends, equipment, and standards
  • Develop Project Management Plan (PMP) for assigned projects
  • Provide Construction Management oversight during all phases of the project
  • Work with the contractor and design team obtaining necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
  • Prepare, maintain, and control project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate and interface with the Client and project team
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and Client stakeholders
  • Provide change order analysis and recommendations to Client
  • Prepare bid packages and assist with contractor procurement
  • Review and approve contractor invoicing
  • Lead project progress meetings
  • Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant Project Management experience managing engineering projects
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Project Management  
  • Understanding of highly technical and mechanical baggage handling/ conveyor systems.
  • Demonstrated familiarity working with consultants, contractors, and architects within Construction industry.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project. Knowledge of and experience using various Contract Management Platforms and Primavera (P6) software is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or PMP certificate highly desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of project management principles, processes, and procedures
  • Proficient leadership skills, including effective conflict management and influencing.
  • Thorough knowledge of utility scale construction projects, including feasibility, estimating, and scheduling
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with little or no direct supervision in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be willing and able to travel 25%.
