Job Description

Position Summary

Clinical Analyst I reports to the CIO and the Clinical Supervisor and is responsible for entering clinical information, identifying patients, navigating patients through treatment options, and working on a data registry. Future projects will be given to Clinical Analyst I depending on business needs. Clinical Analyst I is a quick learner, comfortable with contacting and educating patients, and is interested in expanding their knowledge of healthcare and information technology. A Registered Nursing License with Urology or Oncology experience is preferred for this position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tracks all prostate biopsies and treatments done by all members of UroPartners and any infections/hospitalizations/complications due to biopsies.
  • Identify Advanced Prostate Cancer patients to improve continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Communicates patient needs to medical provider and staff appropriately.
  • Update patient information into EHR in data mine-able format.
  • Tracks patients who seek care elsewhere, decease, or are lost to follow-up.
  • Maintains and constructs the Prostate Cancer Registry Database.
  • S code radiation treatment.
  • Pulls reports for database from EHR and outside institutions.
  • Assists CIO with filling in missing database information.
  • Collects patient reported outcome measures for urinary and sexual function.

 

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory requirements.

 

Educational Requirements

  • Required: One year certificate from college or technical school.

 

Experience

  • Required: 12 months or more related experience.
  • Preferred: Urology or Oncology related experience.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Required: Registered Nurse

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Additional Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following general knowledge.

  • Knowledgeable in computer applications including practice management, electronic health record, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to articulate general knowledge of urological procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in the use computers, faxing, scanning, copy machines and calculators.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and transcripts, based on previous industry experience is highly desirable.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to extreme outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. On occasion the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as found in an office environment.
