Veterinary Technicians/Assistant (Full-Time ) Looking to add qualified staff to our team at Urban Pet Hospital which is a full-service animal hospital that welcomes both emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We are looking for the ideal candidate that qualifies with the following: Hold or restrain animals during veterinary procedures. Clean and maintain kennels, animal holding areas, examination or operating rooms, or animal loading or unloading facilities to control the spread of disease. Fill medication prescriptions. Assist veterinarians in examining animals to determine the nature of illnesses or injuries. Ability to lift 50lbs and Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time Monitor animals recovering from surgery and notify veterinarians of any unusual changes or symptoms. * (Technician position) Skills required; venipuncture, catheterization, anesthetic monitoring, surgical monitoring, teeth cleaning, performing radiographs, intubation, nursing & patient monitoring skills. * (Technician Position) Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments or equipment. Maintain the clinic clean and ready for incoming appointments Examine animals to detect behavioral changes or clinical symptoms that could indicate illness or injury. Educate or advise clients on animal health care, nutrition, or behavior problems. Administer medication, immunizations, or blood plasma to animals as prescribed by veterinarians. Requirements High School Diploma/GED Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the animal or veterinary setting but we are willing to train the right candidate. Veterinary Receptionist (Full Time) We are looking for a dynamic full-time (may consider part-time) Veterinary receptionist to join our veterinary clinic, Urban Pet Hospital, which is a full-service animal hospital and welcomes both emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, setting up new clients and explaining the clinic services Filling prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, sending and receiving faxes Sending reminders, proper computer operation, financial transactions, and front office and reception area maintenance. Proficient in all the hospital's protocols, and able to answer any question a client may have. Reminder (appointment and surgery) calls, medical call-backs, and mail correspondence. End of the day sales report preparation. Basic accounting and book keeping knowledge Check-in and check-out clients Monitor client flow from check-in to discharge Managing record requests between other hospitals and specialty practices Client education Understand vaccinations, basic lab tests, common diseases, and pet behavior Assist in cleaning the hospital including but not limited to: keeping reception desk area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out the trash and recycling, exam rooms, and kennels if needed Process payment transactions Relay appropriate information to/from clients to other staff Ability to use Windows based computer systems, word processing, email, web search and other skills needed to effectively use the practice management software program.
