This position is 24 hours per week with evening and weekend hours required.

Details here:Position Summary: Join a dynamic team as the Facility Rental & Events Specialist at the Urban Ecology Center. This part-time position offers the opportunity to help generate funds for the Urban Ecology Center through the facility rental program at all three branch locations: Riverside Park, Washington Park and the Menomonee Valley.
The Facility Rental & Events Specialist is responsible for assisting with the success of this program, measured by earned income for the center, customer satisfaction, exposure to renters and their guests and furthering the mission of the Urban Ecology Center within the rental program itself. Job duties involve working closely with the Facility Rental & Events Team to grow the rental program at all three locations, directly assisting rental clientele before and during their event as well as backend rental set up, clean up and administrative work. This position may be required to work at all three branch locations, and therefore requires reliable transportation and valid driver's license.Duties and Responsibilities:Facility RentalsRequired to work most of the scheduled events on the weekends (Friday-Sunday) in addition to evening and weekend hours for tours and meetings.Will need to be CPR/First Aid certified and act as first responder during events (UEC will provide resources for certification)Provide excellent customer service to all including; center visitors, coworkers, internal departments and external clients.In specifics to events; helping with setup and cleanup, greeting renters and vendors, responding to last minute inquiries and needs, setting up furniture and AV, and ensuring a quality event for renters while enforcing rental policies and procedures Handle administrative and back end of rentals; inquiries, bookings, tours, scheduling, walkthroughs and meetings and taking rental paymentsHelp to research and develop targeted marketing related to rentals and growing programs at all 3 branches, promote the rental program to new clients and visitorsCollaborating and coordinating large facility rental events such as Eco I Do: Green Wedding Expo and large organizational events such as Solstice, Candle Light Hike, Bike and BiteParticipate in future organizational planning in regards to Facility RentalsHelp to organize and maintain rental related equipmentResponsible for safety of the facilities and renters/guests during rentals, securing and closing building and setting alarmGreet all visitors to the Urban Ecology Center and share information about the Center, our parks, and memberships while connecting them to our different departments and programsHelp to maintain a clean environment in our buildings including public and back of house spaces.Assist Urban Ecology Center staff with assorted additional tasks as neededKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education/ Training:High school diploma or GED certificateBachelor's degree in a related field is desirableExperience:Minimum of three years in customer service; direct experience in rental coordination and/or event planning strongly preferred.Skills and Abilities:Provide excellent quality customer service in situations that can sometimes be stressfulCommitment to the mission of the Urban Ecology CenterAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAttention detail with willingness to clean the facility when necessaryComputer skills (Microsoft Office experience required, prior database experience a plus)Good written and oral communication skills (Spanish speaking a plus)Because this position involves potential work at multiple branches, reliable transportation and valid driver's license is requiredSchedule: This position is 24 hours per week.
10-16 hours: Weekends (Fri-Sunday) required for leading events and tours8-14 hours: Weekday flexible, in-office/remote, answering inquiries/emails, event planning, administrative duties, team meetings and special projects. Extra hours may be available during peak rental season.Working ConditionsJob Conditions/Work Location: Time will be split between remote work/indoors at a desk with open office / active team atmosphere and moving around inside and outside the facilities. Must be willing to work late nights as the lead staff member in the building Ability to work at/travel between all 3 branches.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, with accomodation Clean the facility and be on your feet for an extended periods of timeEquipment Used: Computer, copy machine, fax machine, web-based phone system, printer, dishwasher, AV equipmentSupervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for directing other staff and assistants working as attendants at a rental and working with volunteers, high school outdoor leaders and interns.The Urban Ecology Center is an equal opportunity employer.
