About the Financial Planning & Analysis Director

Upperline Health is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Director to serve as a key leader, contributor, and subject matter expert of all monthly financial reporting, including monthly physician compensation, the budget process, financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, capital projects, and support of strategic initiatives (including M&A). Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of multi-site healthcare financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting experience, and will have the ability to extract data from various systems including the accounting system and the electronic medical record system. This position will report to the CFO and work closely with the Controller and Vice President of Operations as needed. Upperline is looking for strong performers who are self-starters, problem solvers, have exceptional attention to detail and who are eager to tackle problems and tasks, both big and small, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing growth environment.

This person will work in the Nashville corporate office with flexibility to work remotely as needed.

What You'll Do

+ Provide financial leadership and serve as the liaison between multiple functions (Finance, Physicians, Operations, HR, and Accounting) for the annual budgeting process, for monthly financial reviews, and for financial processes & tools

+ Serve as a subject matter expert throughout organization on financial reporting, physician compensation and bonus reporting, budgeting, and KPIs and develop analysis & reports for various stakeholders

+ Consolidated reporting over multiple healthcare sites and entities

+ Partner with the CFO and Controller to create a bottom-up budget starting at the clinic level across 170 clinic locations, and eventually own the budget process

+ Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and business performance

+ Analyzing actuals against budget/ forecast and prior year

+ Work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports.

+ Lead and deliver on digital finance transformation by identifying areas for technology adoption and streamlining such as budgeting tool and dashboard reports

+ Revenue collection rate analyses based on information from our electronic medical records system to support decision making and accounting

+ Support physician RVU comp model calculations and reporting on a monthly basis to support decision making

+ Perform ad hoc analysis where required to assist in management decision making

Qualifications of the Financial Planning & Analysis Director

+ 5-10 years of progressively responsible FP&A leadership experience, including 5 years of modeling experience (sensitivity, scenario, forecasting, etc.)

+ Education: Bachelor's degree required + MBA in finance, economics, or accounting from a leading program, preferred.

+ Multi-site healthcare services experience

+ Value-based care experience preferred

+ Expert-level Excel skills and experience building financial models or budgets

+ Comfortable working with financial and accounting systems such as: Sage Intacct, Workday Adaptive Planning, NetSuite Oracle, SAP, GP, or Kronos

+ Values exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy

+ Problem solver - experience working through ambiguity, helping to drive the outcome and execute on actions

+ Experience in a dynamic, complex, rapidly growing business is strongly preferred

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maturely interact across a broad spectrum of people, including multiple levels of management and physicians

+ Exhibits servant leadership qualities with strong motivation, determination, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to be successful in a fast-paced and evolving work environment

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
