Position Summary
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing the benefits packages provided to employees by the company. This role will ensure that all benefits meet legal and regulatory requirements. This includes making sure that the plans are not discriminatory or unfair to any particular group of people.
This role supports in being back up to workers' compensation administration and leave of absences. In addition, this role supports COVID administration to ensure full compliance.

At least three years of experience as a Benefits Administrator or SHRM certification preferred.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee records and benefits files.
- Coordinate daily benefits processing, including enrollments, terminations, and claims.
- Advise and inform employees of the details of the company's benefit programs.
- Resolve benefit-related issues and respond to queries and requests in a timely manner.
- Research new employee benefit plans and vendors.
- Collaborate with payroll and ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations.
- Coordinate leaves of absence and process claims or requests (FMLA, parental leave and worker's compensation, etc.) as a backup role
- Support with 401k inquiries
- Support annual 5500's
- Ensure timely payment of monthly insurance premiums
- Manage enrolments and determine employee eligibility
- Update and keep employee records
- Collaborate and maintain professional communication with the accounting department
- Oversee onsite and offsite COVID testing events to ensure operations are running according to plan
- Keeps up to date on current Federal, state, and County health guidance in aviation regarding COVID requirements
- Maintains communication with the COVID response team
- Supports with short-term quarantine, including preparing materials, tracking quarantine dates, and communicating release of quarantine
- Experience managing benefits and leaves of absence in a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong people and project management skills.
- Ensuring all programs, policies, and procedures comply with current legislation.
- Support wellness initiatives
- Support employee events
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees and working with insurance brokers to offer the best benefits at the lowest possible rates.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Ability to travel less than 5% of the time to our other locations
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Education
A Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
Experience
At least three years of experience as a Benefits Administrator or SHRM certification preferred.
