Teaching in our post-professionalclinical doctorate (DrOT) program may be included, depending on theinterest and expertise of the successful candidate.Primary expertise desired in neuroscience, OT intervention andideally low vision.The mission of the School of Occupational Therapy is to prepareculturally sensitive graduates who provide client-centered,evidence and theory informed occupational therapy to diverseindividuals, groups, and populations: enhancing clients'participation in meaningful, everyday activities... Graduates usecritical analysis of theory and multiple sources of evidence tomake sound professional judgments resulting in science-based andcreative solutions to the challenges of professionalpractice.As such, we seek applicants who value experiential learning andhave a strong grounding in the use of occupation-based theory toguide the occupational therapy process.

Interest in and experiencewith assessment/measurement, research and evidence-based practicewill ensure that the right candidate will be successful teachingand mentoring students in our programs.Previous experience teaching in an established entry-level OTDprogram and mentoring doctoral capstone projects would also behighly valued.Standard teaching assignment is three units per semester and mayinclude instruction in our student-led clinic. Other duties includecontinuation of scholarly work; advising students; supervision ofstudent (MSOT and OTD) collaborative evidence projects, doctoralcapstone projects, and post-professional doctoral research projects(on the years we have a DrOT cohort); participation in theadmissions process, and participation in department and universitygovernance.Qualifications: PhD (or equivalent research doctorate), fiveor more years of professional clinical experience and a commitmentto liberal arts education. Candidates who are near completion of aresearch doctorate will be considered.

Candidates must have orqualify for a Washington State Occupational Therapist license.Teaching, research experience, and an established record ofscholarly activities are desirable.Application Deadline: Interested individuals are encouragedto submit application materials no later than July 9, 2021 toensure consideration.
