This position provides academic support to University of Nevada student-athletes in concordance with NCAA, Mountain West, and University policy. Academic tutors assist student-athletes in preparing for such academic related work as exam preparation, study skills, time management skills, and concept knowledge. Supplemental instruction or remediation is sometimes necessary. Subjects needed are writing, math, science, and business. Complete knowledge of the subject matter is needed to ensure the student-athlete is receiving the necessary assistance. Individuals in this position will be held to high ethical standards of academic conduct in accordance to departmental, NCAA, and University policies.
Candidates must be current students of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 at the University of Nevada. Minimum GPA of 3.25 in the subject applicant is applying to tutor.
No academic misconduct charges.
Ability and skill to tutor multiple subjects.
Candidates with knowledge of NCAA extra benefit regulations are encouraged to apply.
Hours of work can range on weekdays from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Some Sunday hours are available but not required. All hours will be scheduled with the Tutoring Coordinator with regard to your availability.
