Position Overview:
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) at the University of Minnesota is seeking a DevOps Engineer to implement and operationalize a solution to protect our privileged accounts and machine identities. Their primary responsibilities will include partnering with stakeholders across the IT UMN community, Identity & Access Management, and Information Security organizations to develop a collaborative strategy, architecture, process, and governance to manage the lifecycle of these privileged credentials.

Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to understand their needs for a scalable Secrets Management solution that adheres to security policies and supports the University's broader security infrastructure and data protection roadmap.
Contribute to the successful implementation of an enterprise-wide Secrets Management solution, supporting the overall architectural vision.
Undertake operational duties, including troubleshooting and routine maintenance of the Secrets Management tooling and infrastructure..
Create comprehensive documentation and facilitate training sessions to promote effective use and adoption of the Secrets Management solution.
Collect and analyze service metrics related to machine identity and secret management.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related work experience or master's degree or a comparable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience or working knowledge of Privileged Account Management or secrets management concepts and best practices.
Familiarity of DevOps best practices and CI/CD pipeline tools.
Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Linux and Windows systems administration, Azure, AWS, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Ruby, Python, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Kubernetes, Bash.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Azure Key Vault, Hashicorp Vault, CyberArk, or other secrets management tools.
Solid experience working with one of the following Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Boto3).
Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
Good understanding and practical experience with networking configurations.
