The Department of Pathology is seeking a Per Diem Medical Technologist. The Medical Technologist performs and analyzes routine blood, urinalysis, and coagulation procedures, and reviews the results of complex scientific tests on blood and bodily fluids. Additionally, the incumbent collaborates with physicians and laboratory management on patient data.
The minimum requirements are as follows: Associate's degree in relevant field required. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Possession of current/valid Florida State Medical Technologist License in the areas of: Hematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology, Immunology and Microbiology required. Laboratory Computer knowledge required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
