We're looking for a SOCIAL WORKER/Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. Our affiliation with the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has created a number of new career pathways and makes this the perfect time for you to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs the work of a Clinical Therapist for patients in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The Partial Hospitalization Therapist will be responsible for facilitating groups and assessments as determined by and according to program standards.
Principal Duties:
1. Performs psychosocial assessments as part of the intake process.
2. Utilizes screening and assessment tools like the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, PHQ-9, and GAD-7 to evaluate patient safety risk, and establish well-informed clinical impressions.
3. Prepares psychoeducational materials for and facilitates group sessions.
4. Initiates and develops treatment planning goals in collaboration with the client.
5. Attends weekly meetings of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
6. Meets weekly with clients to assess their progress and specific needs or concerns.
7. Maintains client files in accordance with program requirements.
8. Conducts utilization reviews with managed care organizations and documents in the medical record.
9. Assesses clients' ongoing behavioral and emotional needs.
10. Provides conflict resolution, and crisis management as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker LCSW-C, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor LCPC State of Maryland
Applicable Experience Experience (years): Required: 2 years post-Master's Degree Preferred; Psychoeducation group experience preferred
Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of the DSM 5, psychotherapy, psychodynamics, therapeutic techniques, interviewing skills, family, and group theories and cognitive behavioral theory processes.
2. Experience with music therapy and/or art therapy highly preferred.
3. Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work effectively with team members.
5. Proficiency with computers and technology to include; video conferencing, data entry, electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
