Position Summary/Purpose of Position
This position provides complex administrative support to the Office of the Assistant Dean of Finance & Management and the Land Grant mission of the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. These duties include, but are not limited to procurement and travel card management, administering and maintaining department budgets and accounts, meeting planning and implementation, calendar and scheduling management, drafting, editing and formatting general correspondences. This individual serves as the first point of contact for the Fiscal Office suite and communicates in a courteous and professional manner with office colleagues and visitors, as well as serving as a liaison to administrative offices within the College and throughout the University.
Bachelor's degree AND two years experience in administrative staff work. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Education (include licenses, certification, etc.):
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience in administrative staff work.
Experience with University of Maryland systems: Kuali Financial System (KFS), Electronic Forms (ELF), UMD Procurement Card Management, and Travel Card Management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe. Ability to use and navigate web based systems and to learn new software programs. Proficiency with Google mail and calendar management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information; of basic methods and techniques used in organizing and conducting studies and analyses or programs, procedures, and organizations; of basic analytical and statistical principles and techniques. Skill in the use of office automation software and its application; in operating manual and automated office equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to perform mathematical computations; to present statistical material in chart and graph form.
