Job Description

CU Medicine is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support to the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine’s nearly 3,000 providers. We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Service Support Representative to join our team.

PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or furnish proof of an approved medical or religious exemption. Due to the nature of this role, we will only consider candidates who currently reside in Colorado or those with tentative plans to relocate to Colorado.

The purpose of the Patient Service Support Representative is to elevate the University of Colorado patient experience by supporting the functions of the Patient Services team. This position performs various clerical duties. This includes but is not limited to processing bankruptcies, demographic updates, itemized statements, attorney requests, and returned mail. This role also provide intermittent coverage for reception. Prepare forms for Discount Committee processing. Handle specialized tasks as assigned by the department Manager and/or Supervisor on an as needed basis. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the healthcare industry and physician medical billing. The candidate must be empathetic, courteous, be able to handle competing priorities, and work well under pressure.

 

Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year healthcare experience. Must be technically proficient. Requires intermediate verbal and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgement are essential.  Ability to communicate with empathy and maturity is necessary.
