**Summary of Job Duties**

The Department of Economics in the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the field of macroeconomics beginning in Fall 2020. Applicants with a background in empirical macroeconomics, machine learning and big data techniques will receive preference. In addition to competitive compensation, the college provides resources including start-up packages and excellent technical support.

+ A doctoral degree in economics with a field in macroeconomics

+ The potential to produce high-quality academic research in leading journals and secure external research funding

+ A commitment to high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels

+ Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in economics by August 17, 2020



**Preferred Qualifications**



+ Experience with large scale (empirical) application of macro models using micro data

+ Experience with Machine Learning, Big Data, High-Performance Computing

+ Research focus that overlaps with one or more of the following fields: international trade, economic development and growth, behavioral and experimental economics
