Universal Leaf Tobacco Company, Inc. (Universal) is seeking an experienced HR professional to assume the role of Human Resources Analyst in its office located in Richmond, Virginia.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be a key resource in supporting all HR system applications and assisting the HR Team with data mining and analysis, including report writing. The position will also assist with any HR efficiency projects (i.e. automation via HR Infinisource System and other related systems) and worldwide data gathering. The Analyst will work with the Human Resources Department and Senior Vice President on a regular basis. The position will include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Worldwide HR-related sustainability and social responsibility data gathering, support, maintenance, and analysis.
  • Worldwide succession planning, support, process gathering, and maintenance.
  • Worldwide maintenance of HR requirements related to IT, Compliance, and Internal Audit.
  • Develop "HR scorecard/dashboard" reporting (i.e., retention, turnover, staffing, etc.).
  • Serve as the liaison/security coordinator between Universal and Dominion Payroll System (DPS).
  • Implement new enhancements to the Infinisource System and streamline processes in the HR department (i.e., timesheets, ESS).
  • Serve as the HR Department's primary resource for data organization, mining, and reporting via the Infinisource HR System, DB Calc Pension System, and any other HR Systems.
  • Compile year-end budget projection information for the Accounting Department.
  • Lead HR compliance efforts (i.e., contract/agreement review) with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines.
  • Lead the CEO Pay Ratio annual reporting for the proxy.
  • Update and provide annual executive compensation tally sheets.
  • Lead the IRS Section 162(m) data gathering and analysis process.
  • Manage the International Savings Plan program.
  • Enroll employees in international benefits.
  • Complete the annual EEO-1 and Vets reporting.
  • Conduct studies, perform research, and prepare reports as needed. Troubleshoot reporting and data selection for others in the department.
  • Performs a variety of tasks as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:

  • Five years of HR system administration/support or analytical experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including macros, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and advanced charting
  • Demonstrated success and experience managing projects with responsibility for project planning, requirements gathering, business process change, and delivery coordination.
  • Proficient in working with large amounts of data, ensuring data integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn and demonstrated ability to be successful whether working independently or in a team environment.
  • Possess the ability to think analytically with attention to detail. Ability to use sound judgment and solid decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and be able to efficiently manage time and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative work style with the ability to think creatively and resolve ongoing complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining system and business functions in complex environments preferred.
  • HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Experience with multiple HRIS systems is preferred (Infinisource HR Systems is a plus).
  • Experience with running HRIS reports is strongly preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
