Industrial Shipper

Universal Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of material handling equipment, has an immediate FT opening for an experienced Industrial Shipper at our Cedar Falls location.

Qualified candidate must have experience in shipping/receiving utilizing truck lines, UPS and FedEx services. Responsibilities include scheduling pick-ups for various sized shipments, picking of parts and proper packaging of equipment and parts in preparation for shipping, loading and unloading of trailers by use of hand-carts and forklifts and verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. The Industrial Shipper will build, construct, and assemble pallets, crates, and shipping containers. Shipper will be required to be somewhat autonomous, a self-starter, in the ability to read our production schedule and verify missing parts in the days prior to scheduled shipments, inform supervisors of missing parts/assemblies, and communicate shipments with sales and transportation services. This position involves physical activity, which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move between 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift in excess of 75 lbs with hoists and fork trucks available for use as needed.

This position also requires: strong attention to detail, strong organization skills, and prior forklift certification. A forklift drive test will be given. Experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing industry is required.
