Chemical Dependency Counselor
Centennial Peaks is seeking a dynamic and talented Chemical Dependency Counselor.
Centennial Peaks Hospital is a 104 bed hospital located in beautiful Louisville, CO. We are dedicated to providing a full range of mental health and chemical dependency services to the state of Colorado. We strive to enhance the mental health, safety and well-being of our patients, their families, and the community at large by providing ethical, compassionate, medically and psychologically integrated inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for psychiatric and addiction disorders. The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment is critical.
The Chemical Dependency ("CD") Counselor provides direct treatment by leading psycho educational groups, addiction groups, and Addiction Severity Index Assessments. The CD Counselor provides discharge recommendations based on the ASI assessment, provides recommendations to the treatment team and contributes to treatment planning of patients. The CD Counselor also ensures compliance with quality patient care and regulatory standards, and assists patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illnesses/substance abuse/chemical dependency and other addictions.
Education: Master's degree highly preferred
Experience: Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
Licensure/Certification: LCSW, LPC preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred
