SQL Programmer US Citizens only Federal role

Position Summary:
Maintain a portfolio of one or more hardware and/or software technologies, products, and/or processes including standards of use, life cycles, and/or product evaluation and integration. Develop and maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned.
Specifically, this Analyst’s technology portfolio focuses on Microsoft SQL Server (and components or tools closely related to SQL Server), and Microsoft IIS.

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree, OR
• 4 years of job related work experience, OR
• 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree

Required Work Experience:
• 4 years of specific knowledge of the technology(s), product(s), and/or processes to be supported.
o Technologies requiring this specific knowledge include Microsoft SQL Server (multiple versions, including versions from 2008 to current, and future/planned-release versions), Microsoft IIS (multiple versions), and their deep integration with Microsoft Windows Server (multiple versions).
• 1 year directly supporting the technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. (may be concurrent)
o Technologies requiring this direct support include Microsoft SQL Server (multiple versions), Microsoft IIS (multiple versions), and their deep integration with Microsoft Windows Server (multiple versions).
• 1 year directly supporting two or more of the following Microsoft SQL Server tools:
o Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
o Microsoft SQL Server Database Management Objects
o Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio / Data Tools
o Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
o Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant
• 1 year experience development using PowerShell
• 1 year experience performing web development
• 1 year experience in developing SQL queries
• 1 year experience managing security configurations for your technology, including ARS and NIST controls, and guidance by appropriate STIGs

Preferred Work Experience:
• Experience with software distribution practices at an enterprise level
• Experience with lifecycle of services at an enterprise level
• 1 year directly supporting all of the following:
o Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
o Microsoft SQL Server Database Management Objects
o Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio / Data Tools
o Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
o Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant
o Microsoft Message Analyzer
o Microsoft Message Queue
• 1+ years’ experience performing web development using ASP.NET
• 1+ years; experience in developing queries using T-SQL
• Experience deploying technologies utilizing IBM BigFix

Job Description:
50% Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product, including security and compliance. Define standard offerings and packages to be used by project teams deploying each technology in the analyst’s portfolio.

30% Perform technical interviews and analysis with vendors and/or stake holders to develop and track the road map/life cycle of infrastructure for hardware, software, products, and/or processes. May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors and/or stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, and/or processes. May review with vendor and/or stake holders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, and/or process.

20% Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and/or management staff.
