Union Square Events is looking for a General Manager to join their growing team!

Founded in 2005 as Hudson Yards Catering, Union Square Events is a culinary and operations leader in the hospitality industry, partnering with a diverse portfolio of best-in-class clients. We produce one-of-a-kind catered events and unparalleled dining experiences in a variety of cultural, corporate, entertainment, and private venues throughout New York City and beyond. 

Who you are: the General Manager executes the successful daily hospitality operations at the Delacorte Theater. The General Manager trains, and leads hourly Team Members with the goal of running amazing shifts. This position reports to and works with the management team to improve processes, build sales, and uphold cost controls put in place by management while always living up to our standards. The General Manager is tasked with the responsibility of continuing a culture of Enlightened Hospitality while ensuring the venue remains profitable and delivers excellent products and service. 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage daily operations at partnership accounts, client requests, and USE employees 
  • Understand the contract, the client's goals, and the fiscal responsibility attached to both
  • Streamline internal communication and serve as the point person for both on-site employees and USE leaders
  • Monitor and solicit feedback for the daily service periods
  • Collaborate with the USE Executive Chef to develop themed menus
  • Lead efforts to ensure the experience for USE employees is rooted in our cultural foundation
  • Share knowledge and communicate openly and effectively with the client's leaders

What we need from you:

  • 3+ years working in food service management or catering management 
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Expert client management skills
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to lead, delegate, and a willingness to get your hands dirty
  • Master multi-tasker
  • Strong financial acumen to assist with menu costing and purchasing
  • Weekends availability
