Program Management Office Manager / PMO Manager
Requirements and Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements.
- Implements and provides guidance related to PMO processes and policies, oversees the work of project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
- True first level manager.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Has full authority for program specific personnel actions.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of an program to business back office operations.
- Evaluates and enhances current operational systems in relation to programs. (PROCAS & GOVCON Pay)
- Monitors performance against program goals and develops reporting and auditing processes used to analyze operational effectiveness.
- Coordinates operations with other functions.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals (Deliverables) are met.
- Typically reports to an executive or a manager.
- Manages subordinate program team leads and managers in the day-to-day operations of the program.
- Ensures that Contract/project/department milestones/goals are adhering to approved budgets.
Education:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing or its equivalent.
- Typically reports to the head of a unit/department.
Experience:
- Typically requires 5 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
- 1 to 3 years supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of the function and department processes.
