Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist

Ultium Cells is a joint venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Description:

Ultium Cells seeks a Financial Specialist who is responsible for collecting and studying the financial and operational data to analyze profitability of the business, extracting and defining relevant information. The candidate will dig into complex datasets to analyze trends and translate them into actionable insights for continuous process/profitability improvements. This role also will be able to communicate with cross-functional teams and individuals within the company.

• Product Cost Management with the Accounting team (Develop variance analysis for cell cost and data-driven action planning)
• Yearly budget development; develop pro forma financial statements and communicate action planning with the cross functional teams
• Long Term Financial Plan; establish long term financial plan including pricing status and strategic assumptions
• Monthly rolling forecast; communicate with each function for variance analysis and develop tactics to attain the budget
• Target battery cell price development; establish target cell price and facilitate the concurrence discussion among the stakeholders
• Perform due diligence for borrowing, involve with documentation works
• Government incentive/grant management
• Handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
• Any other ad hoc analyses to make informed business decision

• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills
• Break-work-in-silo mentality
• Time, Quantity, Quality trade-off management
• Communication and presentation skills

• Knowledge in the automotive or/and battery industry and manufacturing
• SAP experience
• Korean language capability
