Direct Support Professionals at Ubuntu Care will provide support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to support these individuals to achieve their highest level of independence focusing on one goal at a time. Depending on the varying needs of the individual, DSP's will provide assistance with ADL's, attending medical appointments and medication administration. DSP's will assist with managing the individual's behavioral development through managing crisis and behavioral issues in the moment along with following an approved plan of care, behavior plan and/or safety plan. Working under the direction of a Program Supervisor, DSP's will work to provide services that enrich the lives of our clients. An emphasis is placed on creating a family-like environment that encourages the individual to experience a full life.
1. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
2. Over the age of 18
3. Has a valid Maine Driver's License
4. High School Diploma/GED
5. Successful completion of department approved background check
Experience preferred but not required, Will train the right candidate.
