The UberSTAR program is a 12-week paid internship for undergraduate fresher and rising sophomores. This program is for current college students interested in working in technology and full-time opportunities with Uber. You will be embedded in a team and work closely with data scientists and engineers under the supervision of an analyst on that team.UberSTAR is a program open to all eligible students and is especially committed to exposing students historically underrepresented in this field to career opportunities in the industry.

Students from all schools and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented in the technology industry, including but not limited to Black, Hispanic, Native American, students with disabilities, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.## **What You'll Do**- Collaborate with your designated mentor to define the problem, scope your project, develop and prototype the solution, and measure the impact- Conduct deep data analysis to drive business decisions- Develop and validate critical data pipelines- Develop and monitor product metrics via dashboards to measure the performance of Safety/Eats/Rides products- Partner with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to understand product roadmaps and associated business questions, analyze data to provide insight into those questions, and present findings- Collaborate with partners, cross-functional teams, and senior management## **Basic Qualifications**- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's in Statistics, Bioinformatics, Economics, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Physics or other quantitative fields- Must have completed an introduction to statistics course!- Must be a first-year or sophomore (2nd year) class standing at the time of application!## **Preferred Qualifications**- Coding proficiency in SQL.- Basic understanding of experimental design and statistical methods.- 0-2 years of prior work experience in an analytical setting.- Organized, detail oriented and able to work independently on multiple projects at once.- Outstanding communication skills to partner effectively and efficiently across Teams.- Self starter, taking initiative and keeping relevant partners in the loop.- Open to feedback, excellent at implementing newly learned ideas and concepts.- Experience with Excel and some dashboarding experience (i.e. Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker)## **About the Team**The **Core Analytics & Science Team** (CAS) is Uber's primary science organization, covering both our main lines of business as well as the underlying platform technologies on which those businesses are built. We are a key part of Uber's cross-functional product development teams, helping to drive every stage of product development through data analytic, statistical, and algorithmic expertise.For New York, NY-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is $46.00 per hour.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is $46.00 per hour.For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is $46.00 per hour.For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is $46.00 per hour.For all US locations, you will also be eligible for various benefits.At Uber, we reimagine the way the world moves for the better.
