Plant Manager

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Enforce and promote the safety of all employees to the highest degree.
  • Champion operational disciplines (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, HSE and Facilities)
  • Execute operation strategy consistent with the overall business strategy to strengthen efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with codes, legislation, regulations, guidelines, best practices and company policies
  • Identify and lead new process improvement opportunities in the areas of energy, quality, cost, performance, and safety
  • Align operations to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Create and deliver accurate reports both verbally and in writing
  • Manage departmental budgets and costs as required
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure production schedules satisfy customer needs
  • Identify and develop talent for career progression, succession planning, knowledge transfer, and increasing organizational capability
  • Foster an ethical work environment with clear values, priorities and standards
  • Build company culture by emphasizing authenticity, cooperation, open communication, and the common good
  • Exemplify moral standards within the organization and encourage the same of others
  • Empower employees to make decisions and take ownership of tasks

Required Qualifications:

Certifications and licenses:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • Five to ten years of managerial experience with budgetary responsibility
  • Knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and standards
  • Understanding of Regulatory compliance
  • Able to use creativity to solve complex problems
  • Able to establish positive culture in operations facility and be an effective driver of change
  • Able to lead, direct, and positively motivate others
  • Able to identify, develop and encourage talent
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills


  • Graduate degree
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with strong focus on maintenance and plant ops


  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening

Working Conditions:

  • Environment includes: Indoor and outdoor work throughout the shift in ambient or above ambient conditions; in close proximity to others; and around moving machinery, heavy equipment, and moving vehicles
  • Exposures include hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme heat/cold
  • Physical requirements include climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
  • Physical effort/lifting is required up to 50 pounds
  • Required to work weekends, nights, and be on-call as needed to support plant production
