Prepare fabricated pipe for shipment by applying exterior coatings, repairing interior linings, and packaging for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify items using markings on pipe in conjunction with order paperwork provided by office staff (5%)
Repair damage to interior linings caused by fabrication process (10%)
Prepare pipe to receive exterior coating by removing surface contaminants including loose rust, oil, grease (20%)
Mix and apply exterior coating to pipe (35%)
Package and palletize items for shipment (20%)
Complete paperwork for each order and submit to office staff (10%)Skills & Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow measurements, use tape measure and apply measurements exactly.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow product order needs
- Must be able to work quickly under constant pressure to complete orders
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
Previous forklift experience desired
Previous painting experience is desired
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Employee may be required to wear respirator, mask and full cover to protect from any hazard. If this equipment is required, employee must be fit tested and pass a physical to perform the required work.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Since this is a heavy industrial environment there will be exposure to Fabrication Shop operations. The employee will be exposed from time to time to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes.
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, Walking, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing, Driving and Sitting.
When in the Shop Production Area the employee will be required to wear PPE including (steel toed shoes if conducting any work related activity), safety glasses and hearing protection where required.
