Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:15p to 1:30a
The Quality Inspector will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
Requirements
· At least 2 years experience in quality control preferably in metal fabrication or similar industry
· Must have good understanding of basic manufacturing processes such as light assembly, metal working, painting etc.
· Experience using micrometers, calipers, coating thickness, height and radius gauges
· Proficient with blueprints, basic mathematical operations and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
· Knowledge of statistical software is a plus
· Effective communication skills to discuss and understand work procedures, training, general direction and other issues with co-workers and supervisor
· Experience in process and equipment validation
· Experience with a standard and quality management systems (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
· Experience working in ISO 9001(Preferred)
Duties
· Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
· Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production operators
· Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
· Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
· Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
· Continually inspect in-process production on the floor to ensure quality standards are being met according to drawings, instructions and customer specifications
