Job Description

Job Title: UCMS Consumer Direct Mortgage Sales Manager

Reports To: Loan Operations Manager 

Direct Reports: Yes

Salary Grade: 10


SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the overall development, supervision and management of the Consumer Direct (CD) functions for United Community Mortgage, including sales and, on a “dotted line” basis, fulfillment operations supporting Consumer Direct. In addition, the position will recruit, hire, train, manage and develop a high quality team of CD mortgage loan officers which is able to provide the customer service levels and has the technical capabilities consistent with best-in-class CD operations. This person will develop strategies to maximize origination volume from the non-mortgage bank customer base at UCB, recapture of borrowers from the mortgage loan servicing portfolio, website leads, and other data driven sources of business.




  • College degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required 
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible positions in Consumer Direct sales and operations
  • Demonstrated training and leadership abilities
  • Prior Management and/or Supervisory experience required
  • Prior experience working with lead management, Loan Origination and supporting systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.



  • Build marketing capabilities which are effective in achieving volume goals at acceptable acquisition costs
  • Monitor and evaluate team and provide performance management, coaching, counseling and remediation as required
  • Maximize the productivity within the group by recommending changes to process and/or systems to gain efficiencies
  • Focus on maximizing profitability, productivity, reducing cost to produce loans, while adhering to loan quality standards for the sales team
  • Establish effective database, lead tracking and reporting techniques
  • Monitor and evaluate sales team to ensure acceptable lead to conversion percentage, consistent pipeline management, and goal level productivity and loan quality
  • Monitor sales staff on customer calls and coach performance as necessary
  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics to refine the process to support corporate growth and goals
  • Implement, interpret and administer Company policies, performance expectations and procedures to provide consistency throughout the loan production process
  • Drive customer service levels to internal and external customers in accordance with expectations consistent with Company standards 
  • Maintain clear and consistent lines of communication between sales and operations staff, management and supporting departments such as compliance
  • Ensure all mandated and required procedures are applied to execution of daily tasks
  • Remain current on company requirements/federal and state regulations to ensure compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
