It Support Technician

INTRODUCTION:

UNICO Engineering Inc. is a civil engineering firm headquartered in Folsom, CA. We are looking for an IT Support Technician to assist with the hardware, software, and other technology needs for the company’s daily operations and advancement. This individual will work directly with the IT Manager to cover the help desk and perform user account (and device) setups and takedowns. They will help with other projects and logistics where applicable. UNICO’s core services are construction management, land surveying, and systems integration. Technology assists in the delivery of our projects along with increasing the effectiveness of our internal operations consisting of project management, accounting, and business development.

REPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will provide first and second level coverage for the IT Help Desk. They will be tasked with installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software problems, as well as general IT support for staff and sometimes clients. They will establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems. They will be required to assist users of a variety of technical abilities. They will on occasion research, evaluate, test, and support the introduction of new technology for the company. This position is 100% on-site. This position requires availability to work on all weekdays (the exact schedule within each day has flexibility). We are looking for about 20-25 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be familiar with Microsoft software and Windows operating systems.

-Experience working independently with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize

-Must be creative and willing to learn

-Excellent communication skills

-Be a team player

-Detail oriented

- A logical thinker and possess good problem-solving skills

-Must have a solid foundation in computer science and math

-Must be capable of documentation and seeing projects through to completion

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Associate degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science or a related field

-2+ years of experience in a technical support role

-Certifications are preferred, but not required

-Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
