Description of Work
Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research technician will be tasked with performing brain tissue clearing, labeling, and imaging to investigate altered brain development in a mouse model of autism. Please see our publications and descriptions of our research at steinlab.org. Additional duties include complying with mandated safety protocols, disposal of chemical and biohazard waste, maintaining equipment in good working condition, and communicating results during lab meetings. Candidates will be encouraged to embrace opportunities to participate in other lab projects that may include tissue sectioning and staining, automated image analysis, machine learning training, data analysis and interpretation, maintaining a database of experimental results, assisting the preparation of grant applications and publications, and providing general technical assistance to support ongoing research projects.
