# Position Information

## Position Summary

The University of North Carolina Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting a Nurse Clinician for the Gynecologic Oncology service, consisting of 10 physicians, 4 other nurse clinicians and 6 fellows in training. The person hired for this position will care for the range of patients seen by the Gynecologic Oncology Division, including women with gynecologic cancers, cervical and vulvar dysplasia, patients at increased risk of developing a gynecologic malignancy, all benign gynecologic pathologies and those patients referred specifically for surgical procedures.

Additional responsibilities include phone triage and advice, coordination of care for the gynecologic oncology patients, collaboration with the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Protocol Office staff to assess patient eligibility for cooperative group and investigator-initiated trials, assessment and management of chemotherapy side effects, educational sessions for nurses and residents and participation in multidisciplinary conferences and journal clubs.

The selected candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the Clinical Instructor rank, with full fringe benefits.

## Educational Requirements

BSN and OCN certification are both preferred.

## Qualifications and Experience

Qualified candidates must hold a current RN license in North Carolina and have at least three years of professional nursing experience, preferably in gynecology or oncology-related services. The ideal candidate will have gynecologic oncology experience, though this is not required. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-talk in a busy and stimulating clinical environment.
