Full time days Job Description Summary The Critical Systems HVAC Technician (CST) has overall responsibility of maintaining all related equipment at an expert level with respect to responding to work orders, advanced troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on critical facilities and utilities systems and equipment, including but not limited to mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, plumbing and piping, drains, and related equipment. All positions are 40-hour weekly schedules of DAYS & NIGHTS to ensure full coverage and accountability for this 24/7 operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures Performs at level of HVAC Subject Matter Expert with demonstrated experience in electric, and electronic controls and pneumatic systems Demonstrates thorough understanding of air flow dynamics including CRAC units, air handlers, exhaust, and steam humidifiers with the ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot and provide direction on critical infrastructure issues Demonstrates working knowledge of energy management systems (building automation systems) and has the ability to program, troubleshoot, schedule, and trend data Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, air dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary Utilizes the Building Automation System to track, adjust, and trend Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC controls and operating systems as scheduled in the CMMS Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems, and provide solutions to critical infrastructure problems Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on temperature, humidity, and pressurization issues Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance/reliability Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments Provides excellent customer service and feedback on all work orders while ensuring compliance to codes, regulations, industry standards, and company policies Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions Operates equipment such as hand tools, computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, while remaining flexible in the day-to-day activities for the benefit of the customer Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested by the Facility Manager Physical Requirements Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents Demonstrated fluency Microsoft Office Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations Education And Equivalent Experience HVAC/Mechanical certification such as Journeyman/Master License from accredited institution Must have EPA Universal certification At least 6 years of experience as a licensed HVAC/R maintenance technician with reference to data centers, commercial industrial or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Formal training and experience in building automation systems Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) environment Will require various shifts and alternative work schedules, including holidays and weekends About Us UG2 is committed to delivering the highest standard of facility services and solutions in the commercial, corporate, education, retail, public venue, healthcare, life science and industrial markets.
