Startup/Operations Manager (Waste Operations SME)

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Startup/Operations Manager (Waste Operations SME) for our customer in Carlsbad, NM for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of DOE Order 525.1D and startup of nuclear facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing Readiness Assessment Plan of Actions (POAs), establishing Contractor Readiness Assessment (CRA) and Contractor Operational Readiness Review (CORR) teams, and coordinating plant readiness for startup of nuclear processes and/or facilities.

Duties:

The successful candidate will lead startup activities during Startup/Readiness Reviews including coordination of response to Readiness Review findings and observations.
